In most shooters, using a keyboard and mouse in place of a gamepad allows for much faster reaction times and overall accuracy. Developer Wargaming (specifically Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore) likely made this decision with the gameplay balance in mind. World of Tanks players on the PC platform cannot enter online multiplayer matches with those on Xbox or PlayStation 4. Although console players can now engage each other in armored combat, WoT PC does not feature cross-platform support.
